2017 Food Truck Festival Highlights Great and unique food highlighted this year's festival.

A gorgeous spring day provided the backdrop for the second annual Wildwood Spring Food Festival, held yesterday (5/20/2017) at Fox Park in Wildwood. Over 2800 people descended hungrily to take part in the tastes (16 trucks!) and sounds of this unique festival. Unfortunately the high winds prevented the inflation of the KidZone, but children still enjoyed the Face Painting and balloon art, while the adults sipped from a draft beer provided by The Holly Beach Fire Company’s beer truck.
Check out the trucks at this year’s show!

An Edible for Every Palate

The trucks hosted a wide variety of eats, including the standard fare (such as Philly cheesesteaks), homemade cupcakes, and my favorite, a vegan cheeseteak with homemade cheese wiz! For adults, a beer truck served domestic beers. (Suggestion for the promoter: next year pull in some IPAs. Dogfish 60 Minutes IPA would be a great addition for us beer-heads out there.)

Amanda Thomas from Boardwalk Entertainment had this to say about the event: “The Food Truck Festival was a huge hit, and was a successful event to kick off our 2017 season. I’d like to thank our vendors and food trucks, and the City of Wildwood for their support of this great community event.”

Boardwalk Entertainment continues with the Food Truck Festival in Ventnor on June 10th, but will be back in Wildwood on Friday July 5th to kick off the Garfield Ave Music Series and July 7th to kick off Movies on the Beach. These weekly events run from July to the end of August.

Also this year, the company will host the Pro Footvolley Tour July 21-23, the Wildwood City Wide Yardsale, the Veterans Celebration Weekend August 25-27, and the Fall Food Truck Festival October 21st.

All in all the festival was a great success, drawing large crowds and serving some great victuals this weekend! If you missed it, you can check out the Fall Food Truck Festival at Fox Park on October 21, 2017 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. See you then!
