Thousands Show Up for Opening Day of the Downtown Wildwood Farmers Market!
Fruitwood Farms and Visalli Farms had just picked Jersey Strawberries and Asparagus along with lots of other produce! Anyone looking for palm trees, perennial plants and hanging pots was not disappointed with the reasonably priced assortment, offered by Nummytown Farms, JM Ferrucci and Visalli. New this year was Blue Eden Soap, Peace Pie Ice Cream Sandwiches, Steve’s Pound Cakes, Farmstead Foods and Pickledelphia! They, and return vendors Duffinetti’s, Nuts World Wide, Balic Winery and Gourmet Creations, were sampling their products and the general consensus was once people tried it, they bought it! Gaiss’ Market had their wonderful assortment of smoked meats and cheeses.
New this year was the Bacon On A Stick? that they were cooking up for breakfast ? it was a big hit with those who got there before they sold out! Many enjoyed watching the folks from Anita’s cut the avocados and make their famous guacamole ? you can’t get much fresher than that! For those looking for the makings of afternoon Tea, Serenitea had an organic assortment that was second to none, Busy Bees provided the honey and S&S Kitchens offered gluten free cakes and sticky buns to finish off their menu! The shoppers loved the convenience of the FREE Parking in the lot behind the market as many unloaded their purchases to their cars and went back form more!
From 9 to 11 Bill Caterini and Alicia Cacci Caprioni played guitar and sang from the stage while Gerry the Balloon Artist and his sidekick Mike the Stilt Walker entertained children of all ages. 98.7 The Coast was interviewing the vendors while broadcasting live!
