Roar to the Shore

OK, I admit it.?About 18?years ago I hated — HATED — Roar to the Shore weekend. It was the noise. Couldn’t sleep, couldn’t talk, couldn’t think! But times change and so do people (sometimes). Now I thoroughly enjoy the sights and sounds (yes, sounds) of one of the most fun-filled weekends in the Wildwoods.

What’s changed? I’m not really sure. I guess I must have embraced my inner Hog (yeah, that sounds weird, I know). Anyway, I am truly looking forward to this upcoming weekend. I’ll head over to Atlantic?and Wildwood Avenues?around 7?p.m. on Saturday to catch the general mayhem flowing out of the Bolero’s Blue Water Grille and Old City Pub (formerly Tucker’s Pub)?as well as all the really cool custom motorcycles. Later, I’ll head over to Pacific Avenue, which also shows off some nice bikes (and the street is?closed to cars, so you can walk freely and stumbly). If you head down there you’ll you’ll want to check?out The Shamrock Cafe, The Deck (say “hi” to my favorite bartender Greg for me), and Cattle ‘n Clover.

Live Music

Most bars listed above will have some great classic rock bands playing all your favorite Easy Rider style music all day long. The Sindi Raymond Band?(one of our favorite?summer bands)?rocks the?The Wharf starting at?3 p.m. LeCompt plays The Deck at 4 p.m. So there’s plenty of fun to be had early and the mostly well-behaved bikers are still just that — well-behaved. In general, you’ll find the folks visiting?this weekend friendly and courteous. Just don’t touch their bikes :-).
