Partners in Preservation Holiday Tour

Partners In Preservation will host the fifth annual Holiday Tour of Bs, Churches and the George. F. Boyer Museum in Wildwood. This is a great way to start the holiday season. Each location is different and even if you have visited before, you may find something new that has been addedperhaps at the museum where there is always something new. Sit down and go through the many scrapbooks on entertainers, boardwalk history, parks, even fires on the island. Maybe you will find your house or a family member. Just a half of a block from the museum is Holly Beach B This English style B has a beautiful model train and village to delight all ages. First Baptist Church, one of Wildwoods oldest churches, was started as a Carousel and features beautiful woodwork and windows. New on the tour this year is Sea Gypsy B, a restored Victorian for a romantic getaway or the whole family. They have rooms, suites and apartments. St. Simeon's Church started at Pacific and Maple Avenues exhibits beautiful stained glass windows which were moved to their new location when it was built at 2500 Central Ave. This church has the oldest pipe organ in the county. Avair House and Tea Room where the old meets the new. Partners In Preservation with East Lynne Theatre hosts a Victorian Tales and Tea on their wrap around porch every summer. Candlelight Inn, another restored Victorian with many original furniture pieces, but with all the modern conveniences. Summer Nites has a new twist. Here you go back to the 50s dcor right down to their diner-like kitchen. See Elvis and Marilyn Monroe rooms, plus many more. Start your tour at any site. A wrist band will be provided for a $10.00 donation collected at the first stop and is good for all places. Children 12 and under are free. Hereford Inlet Lighthouse Christmas Tree Lighting

Festive ceremony will take place at the Hereford Inlet Lighthouse Courtyard, 1st & Central Avenues, in North Wildwood. Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day

Event is held at the St. Demetrios Church, 321 St. Demetrios Avenue at the Hereford Inlet Seawall in North Wildwood, featuring a commemorative ceremony by the North Wildwood VFW Memorial Post 5491 at 12 noon. 'Pinch the GrYnch' Boardwalk 5K Run

This holiday boardwalk 5K run and 1 mile walk is fun for all ages! Event starts at 10 a.m. - rain or shine - with registration at 9 a.m. inside the Wildwoods Convention Center. Participants are encouraged to dress in festive holiday outfits. The race route will run south on the Wildwoods Boardwalk to Cresse Avenue, make a turn around and head north to 21st Street. Another turn will lead runners back to the Convention Center where refreshments will be served and prizes awarded. Runners and walkers along with their cheering sections can then enjoy the Holiday Bazaar held inside the Convention Center. Spirit Brands Cheerleading Festival

Wildwoods Convention Center from 10 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Spirit Brands holiday cheerleading competition featuring performances choreographed to music and sound effects, and winning teams will be awarded prizes. Battle at the Boards Basketball Tournament

Crest Savings Bank presents "BATTLE AT THE BOARDS" inside the Wildwoods Convention Center. This special one day basketball tournament will feature a handful of area and out-of-area boys and girls teams competing in showcase games, starting at 3 p.m. Included in the Battle at the Boards are the popular Andrew Alameno Memorial boys and girls island championship games between cross-town rivals Wildwood and Wildwood Catholic high schools.
